Ready or not HWbot here I come! Overclock#02

At last the two new cards are installed, the sensor probes are in place, the BIOS has been reset and a new Windows 7 Ultimate x64 has been installed. I even had time left to join the guys at HWbot and made an account there for future benchmarking. They have a fantastic website were you can compare and download all benchmark (tools/results) you will ever need.

After some tweaking and tuning the new settings were crash free and I refer to these as Overclock#02 which I am going to use to run some new benchmarks and use them also for my HWbot account!

Enter the MATRIX

Today the new ASUS NVIDIA MATRIX GTX580 P/2DIS/1536MD5 Platinum arrived on my door step, so here is the first impression and the unboxing!

Delivered in an nice flip-open box

The DirectCU II cooling system – 600% greater air flow, 20% cooler operation - is the first eye catcher

Inside the box are two Y-splitter power cables, SLI bridge, VGA converter, manual, driver DVD and ROG case badge

And again it uses three slots of your system case

And the new Safe Mode button, this card has two BIOS versions. One to tweak, tune, and mess up and another one you can access by the safe mode button to restore defaults in case you pushed the card to far and it gets blocked

Overclock zone to set hardware voltages by hand and to raise the fan speeds button, here you can also find the connectors for a multi-meter

Color display of the current GPU load

A total of six slots are needed for an SLI configuration, and 4x 8-pin power connector for a strong power flow

So now lets secure these things inside the case, put the temperature sensors back on, like shown before and connect the four power cables.

Locked and loaded
Specs:
Type: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580
Memory: 1536 MB GDDR5 4008 MHz
Memory interface: 384bit
Watt: 244w, 2 x 8-pin
Shader model: 5.0
DirectX: 11
PCIe x16 v2.0
110 x 40 x 268 mm, 3 slots

I rule my game!

After a period of intense gaming I really start to love this setup, everything runs very smooth and stable. Unfortunately Asus has released their new MATRIX GTX580 P/2DIS/1536MD5 with overclock buttons onboard and their new overclock software. So with pain in my heart I sold my two cards today, and rushed to order a set off these :) More detail will follow when I get them in!
