Setting up the SSD's

The last primary package also contained the two 240GB SSD disks of the OCZ Vertex III series, containing the new SATA 600 connectors giving them a data transfer of +/- 550 MByte/s read and 500MByte/s write speed.

Also included with the kit are 2,5" to 3,5" mounting brackets so they fit in any HDD bracket.

Only 77 gram and 70x9,3x100 mm

After screwing them in the brackets just plug in the SATA power connectors and the white SATA 600 6/G cables. The ASUS Rampage III Black has two SATA 600 connectors so both of the disks can run at full speed! I don't make a RAID setup but use one disk for Windows and the other to install the applications on. After doing some research on the web most test say that the speed only goes down in using a RAID setup on SATA 600 ports.
